1. Human body and skeleton: skull protects brain, ribs protect lungs, elbow is a joint in the arm, joints allow movement, bones provide protection and structure
2. States of matter and changes: melting and freezing as phase changes, solids (iron, silver), gases (carbon dioxide, hydrogen), properties of solids, liquids, gases, liquids flow and take shape of container, gases compress easily, sound cannot travel through a vacuum
