3. Character analysis: Emmeline’s practicality vs imagination, maternal expectations, behaviour comparison in social vs personal settings, multiple-choice inference and opinion justification
4. Text structure and cohesion: paragraph linkage (e.g. “then” for continuity), narrative build-up (e.g. cliff-hanger ending), development of tension
5. Writing task: narrative continuation using “When she had finished reading the letter, Emmeline...”, plot development, use of suspense or mystery, character consistency
6. Style and composition: effective use of structure, planning before writing, descriptive and emotional detail, consistent tone and grammar accuracy in imaginative storytelling
