1. Functional writing: short message to a friend about missed schoolwork, including subject-specific updates, offer of homework help, and meeting arrangement
2. Discursive essay: argument on whether school sports are necessary or can be replaced by after-school/weekend activities, presenting opinions with reasons and examples
3. Language accuracy: correct grammar, verb tense consistency, sentence structure, linking devices (e.g. “because”, “however”, “also”), spelling and punctuation
4. Audience and tone: informal but clear tone for Part 1 message, formal and persuasive tone for Part 2 essay
5. Structural clarity: Part 1 within 45–55 words; Part 2 within 110–130 words, using paragraphs for introduction, argument(s), and conclusion
6. CEFR A2–B1 alignment: expressing personal views clearly, logical organization, real-world relevance (school, homework, sports), concise and communicative writing
